Bill is co-manager of Jaffa Simmons, PLLC, a full service accounting firm in Mesa, AZ.  The firm serves publicly and privately held companies and its executives and owners, nationally and internationally, in the areas of manufacturing, high tech, wholesale, retail, real estate, professional and other service companies, among other companies.   Jaffa Simmons provides tax planning and compliance services in all almost all areas of tax with special expertise in tax controversies, provides accounting and attest services, management advisory services, expert witness and forensic services.

 Professional Experience
Mr. Jaffa began his public accounting career in 1976 after graduating from Syracuse University.

Mr. Jaffa has served the accounting profession as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ tax division, and locally, has served the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants as an Arizona tax liaison and State magazine editorial committee member and tax legislation subcommittee member.

Mr. Jaffa has lectured on various tax topics, and has written numerous articles on tax issues for national and local publications. While with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte and Touche), he served on three of the firm’s national committees in the areas of Arizona taxation, accounting periods and methods, and closely held corporations.

Community service
Mr. Jaffa was most recently a Mesa City Councilmember and served on the finance, utility, fire and police committees, and has served on the City of Mesa Board of Adjustment, and City of Mesa Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Jaffa has extensive experience in development issues.

 He has been a board member of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Mesa Convention and Visitors Bureau, board member of Mesa Town Center Corporation and President and Treasurer of the Mesa West Rotary Club. He currently serves on the board of the Mesa Downtown Association. 

Education
Mr. Jaffa earned his Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Syracuse University, New York.   He attended the graduate program on a full scholarship.
